Faithful to the End
2 Timothy 4:7–8
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

These are the words of a man who knows his life is almost over. Paul is writing from a Roman prison, awaiting execution. He has been abandoned by many of his friends. He is cold, alone, and facing death. And yet there is no regret in his voice. No bitterness. No despair. Only the quiet confidence of a man who has been faithful to the end.
I have fought the good fight. The Christian life is not passive. It requires effort, discipline, and a willingness to engage in spiritual battle. Paul fought—against persecution, false teaching, discouragement, and his own weaknesses. He did not coast. He did not give up. He fought the good fight until the final bell.
I have finished the race. Not every runner finishes. Some start strong and fade. Some are derailed by injury or distraction. Some simply stop trying. But Paul finished. And the same grace that started him on the race sustained him to the finish line. He did not finish in his own strength—he finished in the strength of the One who called him.
I have kept the faith. This is the crown jewel of Paul's testimony. Amid all the trials, temptations, and disappointments of decades of ministry, he held onto the truth. He did not compromise. He did not drift. He kept the faith. And there is a crown of righteousness waiting—not just for Paul, but for all who love the appearing of Jesus. Today, the invitation is the same: fight the fight, run the race, keep the faith. The finish line is worth reaching.

Pray
Ask God to give you the endurance to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. Pray that when your life is over, you will be able to look back with the same confidence Paul had—not in your own strength, but in the faithfulness of the God who sustained you every step of the way.
