Orange View Church of Christ

You're Welcome Here

No pressure. No awkwardness. Just open doors.

Glad You're Thinking About Joining Us

Walking into a church for the first time can feel like a lot. We get it. That's why we want to tell you exactly what to expect before you ever pull into the parking lot — so that on Sunday morning, the only thing you have to worry about is finding a seat.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

— Matthew 11:28

How Sunday Unfolds

Here's a plain-language walkthrough of what a typical Sunday morning looks like from the moment you arrive.

1
9:15 – 9:30 AM  ·  Arrive Anytime

Come On In

We recommend arriving a few minutes before 9:30 if you'd like to get settled before Bible class begins. You'll be greeted at the door, but no one will make a scene of your arrival. Find a seat wherever you're comfortable.

2
9:30 – 10:20 AM  ·  About 50 Minutes

Bible Class

Our Sunday Bible class is a teacher-led discussion of a book of the Bible or a topical study. Adults meet in the main auditorium. Children have their own age-appropriate classes. You're welcome to participate or just listen — no pressure either way.

3
10:30 AM – Noon  ·  About 60–70 Minutes

Worship Service

Our Sunday worship follows the simple New Testament pattern — no elaborate productions, just sincere devotion. Here's what you'll experience:

After Service

Stay and Visit

After the service, our members love to linger and visit. You'll find warm conversations, introductions, and often coffee. There's no pressure to stay, but you'll find a genuinely friendly group of people who are glad you came.

A Few Things You May Notice

Our worship may feel different from what you've experienced elsewhere. Here's a brief explanation of what you'll observe — and why.

Singing Without Instruments

You won't hear a piano, organ, or band leading worship. We sing a cappella — voices only — following the pattern of early Christian worship as described in the New Testament. Don't worry if you're not a great singer. Neither are most of us.

The Lord's Supper Every Sunday

We observe the Lord's Supper — communion — every week. This practice reflects our understanding of the early church's pattern (Acts 20:7). Guests are welcome to observe; participation is your own choice and there is no pressure.

Giving — Always Anonymous

We don't pass a collection plate. Most of our members give electronically through the church website, or by mail if they attend remotely via our broadcast. For those on campus, contribution boxes are located at each exit of the auditorium. We never ask anyone to call attention to themselves — giving at Orange View is always as private and anonymous as possible.

Bible-Based Preaching

Our sermons are drawn directly from Scripture. We are a completely nondenominational Christian church, governed by our own elders rather than any outside organization. Expect a message that takes the text seriously, applies it honestly, and doesn't run too long.

We've Heard These Before
