Keeping in Step
Galatians 5:25
If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.
World English Bible
Paul uses the image of keeping in step with the Spirit — a picture of intentional alignment. Walking by the Spirit is not random movement but coordinated progress. It requires awareness and adjustment.
There are moments when we rush ahead in self-confidence and moments when we lag behind in hesitation. Keeping in step means remaining attentive, adjusting when convicted, and responding when prompted.
Spiritual maturity is not about independence; it is about synchronization with God’s will. As we cultivate sensitivity to His direction, our lives begin to reflect His rhythm.
Walking by the Spirit is less about dramatic experiences and more about daily alignment.
Reflect
- Have I been rushing ahead of God in any decisions?
- Where might I be resisting His leading?
- What practical step would help me stay aligned with Him today?
Pray
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you remain in step with His direction. Pray for willingness to adjust when He corrects or guides you.
