Praying God’s Will
1 John 5:14
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

Confidence in prayer does not come from asking for what we want, but from aligning our requests with what God wants. John assures us that when we pray according to God’s will, He hears us. This is not a restriction on prayer; it is a redirection of it.
Praying God’s will does not require perfect knowledge. We may not always know exactly what He intends. But we can pray with open hands, seeking His purposes over our preferences. We can ask for wisdom, for growth, for faithfulness — and know that these prayers always align with His heart.
When we pray, “Your will be done,” we are not giving up. We are growing up. Mature prayer trusts that God’s plans are better than ours, even when they look different from what we expected.
The goal of prayer is not to bend God’s will toward ours, but to bend our hearts toward His.

Ask God to teach you to pray according to His will. Surrender a specific area where you have been insisting on your own outcome, and ask Him to give you peace with His purposes.
