Sowing and Reaping
Galatians 6:7–9
Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up.

The principle of sowing and reaping is woven into the fabric of God's creation. A farmer who plants corn does not harvest wheat. A gardener who sows weeds does not pick flowers. What you plant is what you get. Paul applies this spiritual law to the entirety of our lives: whatever you invest in, that is what you will harvest.
Sowing to the flesh—investing your time, energy, and affection in the desires of the sinful nature—produces corruption. Not immediately, but inevitably. Sin has a harvest. It may seem harmless at the planting stage, but the crop it produces is always destructive. Sowing to the Spirit—investing in prayer, in Scripture, in community, in service, in the disciplines of the Christian life—produces eternal life. Not as a reward you earn, but as a natural consequence of a life oriented toward God.
The hardest part is the waiting. Paul knows this, which is why he adds: let us not grow weary of doing good. There are seasons when faithfulness feels pointless. You serve and no one notices. You pray and nothing seems to change. You invest in people and see no return. But Paul promises: in due season, you will reap. The harvest is coming. The only condition is that you do not give up.
Today, you are planting something. Every choice you make is a seed. Every conversation, every act of kindness, every moment of discipline or indulgence is sowing into the soil of your future. Plant wisely. The harvest will come.

- Honestly, what am I sowing the most into right now—the flesh or the Spirit?
- Am I growing weary of doing good because I have not yet seen the harvest?
- What is one seed I can plant today that will bear good fruit in the future?
Pray
Ask God to give you the long-term perspective of a faithful sower. Pray for the endurance to keep doing good even when the harvest is delayed, and for the wisdom to invest your life in things that will produce eternal fruit.
