A Father's Compassion
Psalm 103:13–14
Like a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. For he knows how we are made. He remembers that we are dust.

God does not forget that we are fragile. He knows our frame — our limitations, our weaknesses, our tendency to stumble. And knowing all of that, He responds not with impatience but with compassion.
A good father does not expect from a child what the child is incapable of giving. He meets the child where they are, extends patience, and helps them grow. God relates to us in the same way. He is not shocked by our failures. He does not discard us when we fall short. He remembers that we are dust — and He loves us still.
This does not mean God lowers His standards. It means He provides the grace and strength we need to meet them. His compassion is not permission to stay where we are; it is the power to become who He is calling us to be.
When you feel crushed by your own inadequacy, remember: your Father knows exactly what you are made of, and He has chosen to love you anyway.

- Am I harder on myself than God is?
- Do I believe God's compassion is genuine, or do I expect Him to be disappointed in me?
- How does knowing that God "remembers our frame" change how I approach my own weakness?

Thank God for His fatherly compassion. Ask Him to help you receive His grace without guilt and to trust that He meets you with patience, not condemnation.
