The Good Shepherd
John 10:11, 14
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd — not a hired hand who watches from a distance, but a shepherd who knows His sheep personally and is willing to die for them. This is the kind of God we serve: one who is deeply invested in our wellbeing.
A good shepherd does not drive his sheep with harshness. He leads them. He walks ahead of them into danger so they can follow in safety. He searches for them when they wander and carries them when they are too weak to walk. Jesus does all of this for us.
The intimacy of the relationship is striking: "I know my own and my own know me." This is not distant authority; it is personal connection. Jesus does not manage us like a project; He knows us like a shepherd knows every sheep in his flock.
When life feels disorienting, remember that you are not wandering alone. The Good Shepherd knows exactly where you are and is actively leading you.

- How does knowing Jesus personally — not just knowing about Him — change how I navigate difficulty?
- Where do I need to trust the Shepherd's leading today?
