Cast Your Cares of God
1 Peter 5:7
casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
World English Bible
We often carry anxiety quietly, believing it is simply part of being responsible. But Peter tells us to cast our cares on God — not because our concerns are small, but because His care for us is great.
Trials tempt us to hold tighter to our worries, as if constant mental effort could control the outcome. But carrying burdens God never meant us to carry only leaves us weary and overwhelmed. Casting our cares on Him is an act of trust. It means releasing the need to manage everything ourselves.
This does not mean we stop caring; it means we stop carrying alone. God invites us to bring every fear, uncertainty, and burden to Him because He is not distant or indifferent. He cares personally and deeply about what weighs on our hearts.
Dependence grows each time we hand over what we cannot control to the One who can.
Reflect
- What worry have I been holding onto instead of handing to God?
- What would it look like to truly “cast” that care onto Him today?
- Do I believe God cares about the details of my struggles?
Pray
Name the specific concerns that have been weighing on you. Picture yourself placing them in God’s hands, and ask Him to replace your anxiety with trust in His loving care.
