Don't Worry
Matthew 6:34
Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
World English Bible
Worry pulls tomorrow’s uncertainties into today’s peace. It tries to solve problems that have not yet arrived and often never will. Jesus calls us to live differently — not carelessly, but trustingly, one day at a time.
When we obsess over the future, we quietly assume that everything depends on our ability to foresee and control outcomes. But Jesus reminds us that each day has its own troubles and its own supply of grace. God never promised to give us strength today for burdens that belong to tomorrow.
Trusting God daily means receiving this day as the assignment He has given. We do what faithfulness requires now and leave the unknowns in His hands. Tomorrow will come with its own challenges, but it will also come with God’s presence and provision.
Dependence on God is learned in the present moment. Faith grows not by mastering the future, but by trusting Him with today.
Reflect
- What future situation has been occupying my thoughts and stealing today’s peace?
- What would it look like to trust God with tomorrow and focus on obedience today?
- Do I believe God’s grace will be enough when the future becomes the present?
Pray
Name the future concern that has been weighing on you. Give it to God, and ask Him to help you focus on being faithful today while trusting Him with tomorrow.
