Coming Boldly
Hebrews 4:16
Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.

Prayer is not a formal audience with a distant king. It is an invitation to come boldly before a Father who already knows what we need and longs to provide it. The writer of Hebrews does not say we should approach timidly or apologetically. He says we should come with confidence — not confidence in ourselves, but in the character of the One who sits on the throne.
Many of us hesitate to pray because we feel unworthy. We know our failures and assume God is reluctant to hear us. But the throne we approach is a throne of grace, not judgment. Grace means we are welcomed not because of our merit, but because of Christ’s.
Boldness in prayer does not mean arrogance. It means trust. It means believing that God is not annoyed by our coming, but pleased. It means understanding that the door is always open because Jesus opened it.
Every time we pray, we practice dependence. We acknowledge that we cannot navigate life on our own and that God’s mercy and grace are available for every moment of need.

Pray
Come before God honestly, without pretense. Thank Him for the open invitation to approach His throne. Bring your needs to Him boldly, trusting that He welcomes you because of Christ.
