Delivered by God
Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
World English Bible
Following God does not guarantee a trouble-free life. The psalmist openly acknowledges that the righteous face many afflictions. Faithfulness does not shield us from hardship, but it does anchor us in the promise that the Lord delivers.
God’s deliverance does not always look like immediate rescue. Sometimes He delivers by sustaining us, strengthening us, and carrying us through. His presence in trouble is often the deeper gift than the removal of trouble.
Trials remind us that this world is not our ultimate home. They loosen our grip on temporary things and deepen our longing for God. In suffering, we discover that His nearness is more precious than comfort.
The promise is not a life without trouble, but a life never abandoned in trouble.
Reflect
- How have I misunderstood what faithfulness to God guarantees?
- Where have I seen God sustain me even when He did not remove the difficulty?
- What would it mean to trust His presence even before I see His deliverance?
Pray
Thank God that He does not abandon you in hardship. Ask Him to help you sense His nearness and trust His deliverance, even if it comes in ways you do not expect.
