Forgiving as We've Been Forgiven
Colossians 3:13
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

Forgiveness within the church is not optional. Paul does not say, "Forgive if you feel like it" or "Forgive when they deserve it." He says forgive as the Lord has forgiven you. The standard is not fairness; it is grace.
Unforgiveness hardens our hearts and poisons our relationships. It replays offenses, builds walls, and slowly separates us from the community God designed to sustain us. Holding a grudge may feel like strength, but it is a prison.
The Lord’s forgiveness of us was costly. It was not based on our worthiness, but on His mercy. When we forgive others, we are not excusing their behavior. We are releasing the debt they owe us, trusting God to handle justice.
Forgiveness is one of the clearest evidences that Christ’s Spirit is at work in us. It is rarely easy, but it is always right.

- What would it take for me to release this grudge today?
Pray
Ask God to reveal any unforgiveness in your heart. Pray for the strength to forgive as you have been forgiven, and ask Him to heal the wounds that have made forgiveness difficult.
