He Will Sustain You
Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the LORD and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.

David wrote this psalm in a season of betrayal. Someone close to him—a friend, a companion—had turned against him. The pain of that broken trust runs through the entire psalm like a deep wound. And yet, in the middle of that anguish, David makes a declaration of faith: Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you.
The word "sustain" does not mean God will remove the burden. It means He will hold you up under it. Sometimes God delivers us from our trials. Sometimes He carries us through them. Either way, He promises that the righteous will not be permanently moved. You may stumble. You may feel the ground shaking beneath you. But you will not be swept away.
This is the testimony of every faithful believer who has ever walked through suffering. God does not always change the circumstances, but He always sustains the soul. He gives strength for one more day, grace for one more step, hope for one more morning. His sustaining power is not dramatic and flashy—it is steady and faithful, as reliable as the sunrise.
Whatever burden you are carrying today—grief, disappointment, exhaustion, fear—you were not meant to carry it alone. God does not watch from a distance while you struggle. He steps in close and bears the weight with you. The invitation is simple: hand it over. He will not let you fall.

Pray
Tell God about the burdens you are carrying today. Ask Him not just to remove them, but to sustain you through them. Thank Him for the times He has held you up when you thought you could not go on, and trust Him to do it again.
