Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3
You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
World English Bible
Peace feels fragile when our thoughts are scattered and unsettled. Our minds easily replay conversations, imagine worst-case scenarios, and rehearse fears about the future. But Isaiah reminds us that deep, steady peace comes from a mind that is fixed on God.
Dependence on God involves training our thoughts. We intentionally return to truth when anxiety tries to take over. We remind ourselves that God is sovereign, wise, and good. This discipline does not eliminate challenges, but it anchors us so that circumstances do not toss us about.
A steadfast mind does not drift into peace by accident. It chooses, again and again, to trust. It chooses to believe God’s promises over fearful possibilities. As trust grows, peace takes root.
True peace is not the absence of problems. It is the settled confidence that God is present and in control.
Reflect
- What thoughts most often disturb my peace?
- How can I intentionally redirect my mind toward God’s truth when anxiety rises?
- What promise of God do I need to hold onto today?
Pray
Ask God to help you fix your mind on Him. Pray that His truth would quiet anxious thoughts and that trust in Him would bring lasting peace to your heart.
