Trust God
Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Most of us are very good at trusting God in theory, but much less consistent at trusting Him in practice. We pray, but we also plan. We seek God’s guidance, but we still rely heavily on our own instincts, experience, and preferences.
Solomon does not say, “Trust in the Lord a little,” or “Trust in the Lord when you’re confused.” He says to trust the Lord with all your heart. That means surrendering not just the parts of life we don’t understand, but also the parts where we feel confident and capable.
Leaning on our own understanding feels natural. It feels responsible. But Scripture reminds us that God sees what we cannot see and knows what we do not know. When we acknowledge Him in all our ways—our decisions, conversations, plans, and reactions—we invite Him to shape our path instead of simply blessing the one we’ve already chosen.
God’s promise here is not that life will be easy, but that our path will be directed. And that is something we can trust.

Pray
Pray honestly about an area of your life where you feel confident or in control. Ask God to help you release that control and trust Him more fully. Thank Him for being a God who directs, not abandons, those who seek Him.
