He Knows Your Name
Isaiah 43:1
But now the LORD who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel, says: “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine.
World English Bible
God does not deal with humanity in the abstract. He calls individuals by name. He knows you — not as a number, not as a face in a crowd, but personally and specifically. The God who created you has also redeemed you and claims you as His own.
In a world where people often feel overlooked, unnoticed, or replaceable, this truth is deeply reassuring. You are not anonymous to God. He formed you with intention, and He pursues you with purpose. Your identity does not rest on what others think of you; it rests on the fact that God has called you His.
Fear naturally diminishes when we remember whose we are. If the Creator of the universe knows our name and has redeemed us, what circumstance can ultimately overwhelm us? The command "Fear not" is not wishful thinking; it is grounded in the reality of who God is.
You belong to Him. And nothing can change that.
Reflect
- Do I live as someone who is known and claimed by God?
- What fear in my life would lose its grip if I truly believed I belong to Him?
- How does being called by name change the way I see my own worth?
Pray
Thank God for knowing you by name. Ask Him to replace your fears with the confidence that you belong to Him, and that nothing can separate you from His care.
