The Lord Is Near
Psalm 145:18
The LORD is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

God does not keep His distance from those who seek Him. The psalmist declares that the Lord is near — not merely aware, not simply watching, but close. He draws near to those who call on Him, and He responds to those who come in honesty.
We sometimes treat God as though He is far away, as if our prayers must travel a great distance before they reach Him. But Scripture says otherwise. He is present, attentive, and willing. The gap we feel is not a product of His withdrawal but often of our own distraction.
Calling on God "in truth" means approaching Him without pretense. It means being honest about our needs, our failures, and our dependence. God does not require polished words; He requires a sincere heart.
Whatever you face today, know this: the Lord is not far away. He is as close as an honest prayer.

- How might my day change if I lived with a constant awareness of God's nearness?

Thank God for His promise to be near. Ask Him to help you live with an awareness of His presence throughout this day, and to call on Him honestly in every situation.
